Hervé Rivano is a CNRS researcher
Since september 2009, Hervé Rivano is a member of the SWING project-team which belongs to the INRIA Rhône Alpes and the CITI Lab (INSA Lyon), with a temporary INRIA position.
From october 2004 to august 2009, he was a member of the Mascotte project-team which belongs both to the INRIA Sophia Antipolis-Méditerranée and the I3S Lab (University of Nice Sophia Antipolis and CNRS).
He obtained his PhD in november 2003 from the University of Nice-Sophia Antipolis. He was supervised by Afonso Ferreira (CNRS) and Jérôme Galtier (Orange Labs). He graduated from the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Lyon.
His research interests include combinatorial optimization and approximation algorithms applied to network design and provisioning. He focuses on Wireless Mesh Networks optimization, and energy efficient backbone networks design. He also focuses on multicommodity flow algorithms, graph coloring in telecommunication network settings, and Shared Risk Groups fault tolerant networks
He supervises the PhD of Christelle Molle who should defend her PhD late october 2009 at Mascotte, Sophia Antipolis, and the PhD of Anis Ouni who has started early october 2009 at CITI lab.
