Postdoctoral position at Inria on network data analytics

We are inviting applications for one postdoctoral position on network data analytics at Inria. The position is for one year, starting before October 2015. The successful candidate will join the UrbaNet research team at the Inria premises within the Campus LyonTech La Doua, in Lyon, France. The research activity will be carried out under the supervision of Razvan Stanica and Marco Fiore.

The candidate will conduct research on cognitive 5G networking, where anticipatory mechanisms are used to improve the performance of mobile networks. Possible target services include, for instance, offloading, caching, or RAN virtualization, and will be built and evaluated using large-scale mobile networks datasets. To that end, the fellow will work on real-world data, either collected by cellular operators or gathered using a dedicated monitoring application running on users' smartphones.

Requirements for this position include:

  • PhD in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related areas
  • Strong background in wireless networking, with an interest in data analysis. Candidates with a curricula oriented to data analytics and an interest in mobile networks will also be considered
  • Strong algorithm design and software implementation skills
  • Good publication record in related conferences and journals
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
